The Hot Toys collection at MTHOR Shop brings together the 1/6 scale Hot Toys figures most sought after by collectors: Iron Man Mark III, Mark VI, Mark 33 Silver Centurion and Mark LXXXV, Spider-Man Iron Spider, Upgraded Suit and Advanced Suit, Thor, Thanos, Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Black Panther and Captain Marvel from the Movie Masterpiece series, Boba Fett from the Star Wars 40th anniversary collection, Michael Jackson Thriller Version, Optimus Prime, as well as the light-up replicas of the Infinity Gauntlet, all authenticated before shipping. Buying a Hot Toys figure from MTHOR means getting access to pieces sold out at the maker and its distributors, with an expert check of the box contents and worldwide delivery in 2 to 8 days to your door, signed for on receipt, customs included. Founded in 2000 in Hong Kong, Hot Toys has established itself over twenty years as the maker whose movie figures, with their portraits sculpted from the actors and their articulated armours, set the standard for the high-end collectibles market. For the buyer, the Hot Toys collection at MTHOR is the way to track down a specific reference, Mark 17 Heartbreaker or Mark 41 Bones, without depending on a pre-order opened years earlier.

The history of Hot Toys, from Causeway Bay to the Avengers

Hot Toys Limited was founded in 2000 in Hong Kong by Howard Chan, a television designer and screenwriter with a passion for figures, who first opened a toy and collectibles shop in Causeway Bay before launching his own line of articulated 1/6 scale figures. The early years were devoted to military figures of the American special forces, a training ground on which the brand's craftsmen refined body articulation, the tailoring of fabric outfits, sculpting and painting. The company is now based in the Kwun Tong district of Hong Kong.

The turning point came when Howard Chan secured, through a Japanese agent, the licences for the 1984 film Terminator and the 1986 film Aliens: the Movie Masterpiece series, abbreviated MMS, was born in late 2005 with Kyle Reese, a battle-damaged T-800 and Corporal Hicks. The series established a principle that has never changed: each figure reproduces a film character at 1/6 scale, around thirty centimetres, with a portrait sculpted from the actor, a fabric outfit or a multi-part armour, and accessories taken from scenes in the film. In early 2009, almost a year after the release of the Iron Man film in cinemas, Hot Toys issued reference MMS 75, the Iron Man Mark III, its first licensed Marvel figure: opening flaps, light-up eyes and reactor, an unprecedented balance between fidelity and articulation. The same year, the Michael Jackson Thriller Version inaugurated the Michael Jackson series, and in 2010 the brand's official shop, Toy Hunters, was named by Time Out among the fifty best independent shops in Hong Kong.

Since then, Hot Toys has extended its catalogue to the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, to Star Wars, DC Comics, Disney and many film and video game franchises, with dedicated series such as the Diecast Series, whose armours are partly made of die-cast metal, or the Video Game Masterpiece for game characters. Its figures are distributed outside Asia by specialist retailers such as Sideshow, by pre-order and in finite runs, which explains why a sold-out reference is only available on the resell market. The Hot Toys collection at MTHOR gathers these pre-owned and new sealed pieces, from the Iron Man Mark I to the Scarlet Witch from WandaVision.

The Iron Man Movie Masterpiece figure, the collection's flagship piece

The Iron Man figure is the most represented piece in our Hot Toys collection, and the one collectors look for first. Since the Mark III of 2009, Hot Toys has produced almost every armour seen on screen, from the hand-built Mark I of the Afghan caves to the Mark LXXXV of Avengers Endgame, and it is this complete series that gives each reference its value. Three strengths explain why these figures are collected. Film accuracy checked piece by piece: each armour is reproduced at 1/6 scale from the studios' digital models, with the openings, battle damage and proportions of the on-screen model. Built-in light-up functions: eyes, ARC reactor, palms and sometimes the base light up via LED, turning the figure into a display object as much as an adult toy. Diecast versions in metal: the armours of the Diecast Series, such as the Mark III, the Mark VI or the War Machine, use die-cast metal parts that give weight, a metallic finish and better durability over time than plastic.

The Spider-Man figures follow the same logic, with a slim body in printed fabric, interchangeable hands and web effects, whether it is the Iron Spider from Infinity War, the Upgraded Suit from Far From Home or the Advanced Suit from the PlayStation video game. For the buyer, the question is therefore no longer just "which Hot Toys figure" but "which armour, which version and which box condition", and that is precisely what the Hot Toys collection at MTHOR lets you compare.

The iconic models of the Hot Toys collection

Ten families of figures structure the Hot Toys collection at MTHOR Shop.

• Iron Man Mark III, Mark VI and Mark I: the armours from the first film, in Movie Masterpiece or Diecast versions.
• Iron Man Mark 17 Heartbreaker, Mark 33 Silver Centurion, Mark 39 Starboost and Mark 41 Bones: the "House Party" armours from Iron Man 3, sought-after pieces for complete series.
• Iron Man Mark LXXXV and Battle Damaged version: the final armour from Avengers Endgame, intact or damaged.
• War Machine Mark IV Diecast and Iron Patriot: James Rhodes' armours, in die-cast metal.
• Spider-Man Iron Spider, Upgraded Suit, Homemade Suit and Advanced Suit: the suits of Tom Holland's Spider-Man and of the video game, as well as the Far From Home Movie Promo edition.
• Thanos, Thor and Hulk: the giants of Infinity War, Endgame and Age of Ultron, including the Hulk Deluxe Set.
• Black Widow, Captain America, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel Deluxe Diecast and Scarlet Witch: the heroes of the Avengers and WandaVision.
• Infinity Gauntlet and Nano Gauntlet Stark version: the light-up 1:1 scale replicas, display pieces.
• Boba Fett 40th anniversary: the bounty hunter from the collection celebrating 40 years of The Empire Strikes Back.
• Michael Jackson Thriller Version and Optimus Prime Starscream Version: the non-Marvel figures, for collectors of pop culture and Transformers.

Added to these is the Venompool, a hybrid character from the Marvel games universe, for buyers looking for a less common reference.

FAQ — Hot Toys figures at MTHOR

How does MTHOR verify that a Hot Toys figure is authentic?

At MTHOR, every Hot Toys figure is checked by our team on the box reference and barcode, the edition sticker and hologram where they exist, the fineness of the portrait paintwork, the cut and stitching of the fabric outfit, the fit of the armour parts, the working of the LEDs and the presence of every accessory in its blister, with a UV lamp and microscope for the finer details, before our seal is applied.

How big is a 1/6 scale Hot Toys figure?

A 1/6 scale Hot Toys figure measures around 30 centimetres for a human-sized character, and more for giants such as Thanos or Hulk. The Infinity Gauntlet replicas are 1:1 scale, that is life-size. The exact height of each piece is listed on its product page.

Does the Hot Toys figure come complete in its original box?

Yes. Unless otherwise stated on the product page, every Hot Toys figure sold by MTHOR is delivered in its original box with its blister, base, interchangeable hands, effects and accessories. When a piece is pre-owned or the box has been opened, the product page says so and the contents are inventoried during the quality check.

What is the delivery time for a Hot Toys figure ordered from MTHOR?

We ship worldwide, with delivery to your door, signed for on receipt, within 2 to 8 days. You get real-time tracking by email and WhatsApp, whatever your destination.

Do I have to pay customs fees on a Hot Toys figure imported from Hong Kong or the United States?

No, there are no customs fees for you to pay. MTHOR covers all customs fees and duties, whatever your destination in the world. The price shown on the site is the final price you pay: no nasty surprises on delivery.

Can I return a Hot Toys figure after receiving it?

Yes. You have 14 days after receipt to return your Hot Toys figure to us, provided it is in its original condition (never used, packaging intact, seal not removed). The refund is processed within 24 hours of receiving the return.
