Funko Pop: exclusive Pop! figures, chase and limited editions, authenticated resell

The Funko Pop collection at MTHOR Shop brings together Funko Pop! figures from anime (One Piece, Demon Slayer, Naruto Shippuden, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dragon Ball Z, Solo Leveling), Marvel and DC, NBA, Pokémon, film and music, with a high proportion of convention exclusives (SDCC, NYCC, Funkon), chase versions, numbered limited editions and Pop! Plus formats, each one inspected by our experts before shipping. If you want to buy a rare Funko Pop figure, a One Piece or Demon Slayer Funko Pop you cannot find in stores, an SDCC exclusive or a limited-edition Pop! Plus, this page gathers the items collectors look for in Europe and beyond. Pop! figures, launched by Funko in 2010, have become the most widespread licensed figure format in the world, and their secondary market rests on two criteria that we check systematically: the authenticity of the figure and its box, and the condition of the whole.

The history of Funko, from the Big Boy bobblehead to the Pop! phenomenon

Funko was founded in 1998 by collector Mike Becker, from his home in Snohomish, Washington State, with a simple idea: make old-fashioned toys inspired by American nostalgia. The brand's first product was a bobblehead of Big Boy, the mascot of the restaurant chain of the same name, followed by other bobblehead figures in the Wacky Wobblers line. In 2005, Mike Becker sold Funko to Brian Mariotti, who moved the company to Lynnwood and then massively expanded its licensing deals. The turning point came in 2010: Funko previewed its new Pop! line at San Diego Comic-Con, with the full launch taking place at the 2011 New York Toy Fair. The style is instantly recognizable, inspired by Japanese chibi: a large square head, a deliberately small body, big round black eyes, and a numbered window box that turns each figure into a series piece.

This standardized format, about 9.5 cm tall, allows Funko to produce thousands of characters on the same manufacturing base: anime, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Disney, sports, music, video games. The company, now based in Everett, Washington State, holds more than a thousand licenses and has built its ecosystem around scarcity: store exclusives (Hot Topic, Target, Walmart, Amazon, Crunchyroll, Toy Tokyo), convention exclusives bearing the San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con or Summer/Fall Convention sticker, editions limited to an announced number of pieces (1,000, 3,500, 5,000 or 9,500 copies), and chase versions slipped randomly into cases. The chase ratio most often cited by collectors is about one in six, but Funko does not release any official figure and some series are much rarer. Since 2025, Funko has added the Pop! Plus label to certain limited-run pieces, such as Homer on Scale (The Simpsons) or the bronze Monkey D. Luffy statue for the 25th anniversary of One Piece. This architecture of scarcity is what makes Funko Pop a resell item in its own right, and what justifies a serious authenticity check.

The flagship piece: the convention-exclusive Funko Pop! and the chase version

The most sought-after figure in the Funko Pop collection at MTHOR is the limited-edition convention exclusive, of which the Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman SDCC 2026 limited to 1,000 pieces are the most telling example. A convention exclusive is produced in an announced quantity, sold only on site or through a designated partner for a few days, then disappears: the box carries the event sticker, which is an integral part of the item's value. The chase version follows a different logic: it is inserted at random into cases of a standard figure, identifiable by its gold "Chase" sticker and a distinguishing detail (metallic or glow-in-the-dark finish, different pose or outfit), like the Funko Pop! One Piece Enel Special Edition Chase or the Demon Slayer Genya Shinazugawa Demon Form Metallic. Three benefits explain collectors' interest: a verifiable rarity, since the print run or ratio is known and the sticker authenticates the origin; a collector value that depends directly on the condition of the box, corners, window and sticker; and a collection consistency, as the serial numbers printed on the box let you complete a line (Animation, Marvel, Basketball, Rides, Comic Covers, Rocks) without duplicates. For these pieces, our inspection covers the packaging as much as the figure: a reproduced exclusive sticker, a swapped box or a replaced window changes the nature of the item, and that is exactly what our experts check before applying the MTHOR seal.

FAQ — Funko Pop at MTHOR

How can you tell a real Funko Pop and how does MTHOR verify authenticity?

At MTHOR, every Funko Pop is inspected by our team before shipping: we check the molded Funko markings under the foot and on the back of the head, the quality and alignment of the paint, the serial number and license printed on the box, the typography, the barcode, the plastic window and, for exclusives, the retailer or convention sticker. The UV lamp and the microscope are used to detect touch-ups and reproduced stickers, then we apply our seal.

What is a Funko Pop chase and how do I know if I am buying one?

A Funko Pop chase is a rare variant slipped randomly into cases of a standard figure: it carries a gold "Chase" sticker on the box and stands out through a detail (metallic or glow-in-the-dark finish, different pose or color). At MTHOR, a chase is always sold as such: the product page states it in its title, as with the One Piece Enel Special Edition Chase, and you receive exactly the version shown in the photos.

Are Funko Pops delivered in their original box, with the exclusive sticker?

Yes. Every Funko Pop in the collection is delivered new, in its original Funko window box, with its exclusive or limited-edition sticker when the item has one (SDCC, NYCC, Hot Topic, Target, Funko Exclusive). The condition of the box is specified on the product page, and the figure is protected in a reinforced shipping box to preserve the corners.

What is the delivery time for a Funko Pop ordered at MTHOR?

We ship worldwide, with home delivery against signature within 2 to 8 days. You get real-time tracking by email and WhatsApp, wherever you are.

Do I have to pay customs fees on an imported Funko Pop?

No, you do not pay any customs fees. MTHOR covers all customs duties and taxes, wherever you are in the world. The price displayed on the site is the final price you pay: no unpleasant surprises on delivery.

Can I return a Funko Pop if I change my mind?

Yes. You have 14 days after receipt to return your Funko Pop to us, provided it is in its original condition (never taken out of its box, packaging intact, seal not removed). The refund is processed within 24h of receiving the return.
