IKEA: the Swedish giant's limited editions, from Virgil Abloh to Gustaf Westman
The IKEA collection at MTHOR Shop brings together items from IKEA's limited collaborations with designers and artists: the "KEEP OFF" rug and the MARKERAD series by Virgil Abloh, Daniel Arsham's clock for the IKEA Art Event 2021, the OBEGRÄNSAD wall clock by Swedish House Mafia and Gustaf Westman's pink STRÅLA lamp. These pieces, sold in stores for only a few weeks and then pulled from the catalogue, have become sought-after collectibles on the resale market, just like a sneaker or a Bearbrick. MTHOR Shop, a French authenticated resale store, selects these IKEA editions for collectors who want to buy a Virgil Abloh x IKEA rug, a Daniel Arsham IKEA clock or a MARKERAD bag with confidence, backed by an expert check and worldwide delivery in 2 to 8 days.
The story of IKEA and its limited collaborations
IKEA was founded on 28 July 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, then just 17 years old, in Älmhult, in the Swedish region of Småland. The name is an acronym of his initials, the family farm Elmtaryd and the neighbouring village of Agunnaryd. The company started out as a mail-order business, moved into furniture five years later and opened its first store in Älmhult on 28 October 1958. The founding principle has not changed since: affordable design, mass-produced, assembled at home.
It is precisely this mass-market logic that makes IKEA collaborations so unusual. In 2019, the brand entrusted Virgil Abloh, founder of Off-White and then men's artistic director at Louis Vuitton, with a 15-piece series called MARKERAD: bedding, furniture, rugs and a clock, designed for young people furnishing their first home. The grey "KEEP OFF" rug, previewed in May 2019, sold out online in under an hour; the full collection reached stores on 1 November 2019 and disappeared just as fast. In 2021, the IKEA Art Event brought together ten objects designed by Daniel Arsham, Sabine Marcelis, Stefan Marx, the Japanese collective Gelchop and Humans since 1982, with Arsham contributing a wall clock that seems to pass through the air carrying a piece of fabric along with it. In October 2022, IKEA launched OBEGRÄNSAD worldwide, more than twenty products designed with the trio Swedish House Mafia for making and listening to music at home: turntable, desk, lamps, clock and bags. Finally, in autumn 2025, Stockholm designer Gustaf Westman signed his first collaboration with another brand: a winter collection of twelve round, colourful pieces, including the STRÅLA table lamp.
Each series follows the same script: a short run, distribution in stores and online limited to a few weeks, then a second life on the resale market where complete pieces in good condition become scarce. That is the market the IKEA collection at MTHOR Shop covers.
The star piece: the Virgil Abloh x IKEA "KEEP OFF" rug
The "KEEP OFF" rug is the most iconic piece of the Virgil Abloh x IKEA collaboration and the most sought-after item in the collection. Measuring 200 x 300 cm, it features the designer's signature concrete grey and capital-letter typography, with an ironic message telling you not to step on an object made to be walked on. Three reasons explain its value among collectors.
- A signed design piece: Virgil Abloh, who passed away in November 2021, is one of the most influential creators of his generation; his twisted everyday objects, from the MARKERAD bag inspired by the FRAKTA tote to the "TEMPORARY" clock, are now exhibited and collected like works of art.
- A high-impact decorative format: a six-square-metre rug anchors an entire room; the "KEEP OFF" goes in the middle of a living room, under a bed or on the wall, and naturally pairs with sneakers, art toys and contemporary furniture.
- Real rarity: sold in a single distribution window in late 2019, the rug is no longer produced by IKEA; examples in new condition with the original tag are few, and their value depends directly on that condition.
At MTHOR, a Virgil Abloh x IKEA rug is inspected laid flat: fibre density and colour, regularity of the border, woven IKEA label sewn on the back with the reference and country of manufacture, and no odour or sign of use. The same care applies to the "RECEIPT" and "WET GRASS" rugs from the same series.

- Virgil Abloh x IKEA "KEEP OFF" Rug (200 x 300 cm, grey and white), the signature rug of MARKERAD.
- Virgil Abloh x IKEA MARKERAD "RECEIPT" Rug (201 x 89 cm), a giant IKEA receipt woven in black and white.
- Virgil Abloh x IKEA MARKERAD "WET GRASS" Rug (195 x 133 cm), a green rug imitating freshly watered grass.
- Virgil Abloh x IKEA MARKERAD "TEMPORARY" Wall Clock, the white clock stamped with the word "TEMPORARY".
- Virgil Abloh x IKEA MARKERAD Large Bag and Medium Bag, the brown totes inspired by the FRAKTA, stamped with the word "SCULPTURE".

- Virgil Abloh x IKEA MARKERAD Duvet Cover, the grey duvet cover in EU (140 x 200 cm) and US (Full/Queen) versions.

- IKEA x Swedish House Mafia OBEGRÄNSAD Wall Clock, the black clock from the 2022 music collection.
- IKEA x Gustaf Westman STRÅLA LED Decorative Table Lamp Pink, the rechargeable lamp with articulated rings from winter 2025.
- IKEA Punch Monkey Orangutan Plush (and its mini version), the DJUNGELSKOG orangutan plush that went viral in early 2026 thanks to Punch, a baby macaque at Ichikawa zoo in Japan who had adopted it as his comfort toy.
The clocks and the lamp are sold with their original box when available, and each listing states the version (EU or US for bedding, dimensions for rugs).

FAQ — IKEA at MTHOR
How can I tell if a Virgil Abloh x IKEA rug is authentic?
At MTHOR, every Virgil Abloh x IKEA rug is checked before shipping: we verify the woven IKEA label sewn on the back (reference, composition, country of manufacture), the density and shade of the fibres, the sharpness of the typography and the finish of the edges. Fakes of the "KEEP OFF" most often show uneven lettering, a grey that is too light and a printed label instead of a woven one. Every validated item is shipped with our seal.
Do the IKEA clocks and lamp come with their original box?
Yes, when the box comes with the item, it is indicated on the product page and shipped with it. The "TEMPORARY" clock, the Daniel Arsham clock, the OBEGRÄNSAD clock and the STRÅLA lamp are offered new in their IKEA packaging whenever possible; if an item is sold without its box, the listing states it clearly. Batteries are not included with the clocks, in line with the original sale.
What is the difference between the MARKERAD duvet cover in EU and US versions?
The EU version of the MARKERAD duvet cover measures 140 x 200 cm and comes with one pillowcase; the US version matches the American Full/Queen size and includes two pillowcases. The grey pattern and lettering are identical, only the dimensions and the number of pillowcases change. Check the size of your duvet before choosing: both versions are listed separately in the collection.
How long does delivery take for an IKEA item ordered on MTHOR?
We ship worldwide, with delivery to your door against signature within 2 to 8 days. You get real-time tracking by email and WhatsApp, wherever you are. Large rugs such as the "KEEP OFF" 200 x 300 cm are rolled and protected for transport.
Are there customs fees on an IKEA order outside France?
No, you pay no customs fees. MTHOR covers all customs duties and taxes, wherever you are in the world. The price shown on the site is the final price you pay: no surprises on delivery.
Can I return an item from the IKEA collection?
Yes. You have 14 days after receipt to return your IKEA item, provided it is in its original condition (never used, packaging intact, seal not removed). The refund is processed within 24h of receiving the return.
