Topps: the trading cards that drive the market
The Topps collection at MTHOR Shop brings together sealed boxes and authentic Topps cards: Topps Chrome Basketball and UEFA Club Competitions, Topps Formula 1, Topps Chrome Disney, Marvel and Star Wars, Topps Series 1 Baseball, Topps Pristine, Inception and Sapphire editions. Buying Topps cards means entering the world of the American manufacturer founded in 1938 in Brooklyn, the originator of modern baseball cards and now owned by Fanatics. At MTHOR Shop, a French authenticated resale store, every Topps box is checked by our experts before shipping, with worldwide home delivery against signature in 2 to 8 days, customs included. Whether it is a Topps Chrome NBA Hobby Box, a Topps PSG Mega Box or a UEFA Value Box for a first break, the collection is aimed as much at the collector hunting numbered refractors as at the football, F1 or Disney fan who wants to open sealed packs with complete confidence.
The history of Topps: from Bazooka bubble gum to Fanatics
Topps was founded in 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, by the four Shorin brothers, Abram, Ira, Philip and Joseph, under the name Topps Chewing Gum. The company first sold chewing gum and launched Bazooka in 1947, which would remain its signature product for decades. Cards arrived in 1951 with two first baseball sets, the "Red Backs" and the "Blue Backs", of 52 cards each. The real turning point was the 1952 series: 407 cards, a format that set the standard for the modern baseball card, and a Mickey Mantle card no. 311 sold for 12.6 million dollars on 28 August 2022, a record for a collectible card at the time of sale.
Topps then built its empire on licences. In 1996 the first Topps Chrome appeared, a 165-card set on chromium stock in which every card exists in a "Refractor" parallel: poorly received at the time, Chrome nonetheless became an essential annual reference in the hobby. In 1999, the Pokémon licence sold Topps more cards than baseball. The manufacturer expanded into Europe with Match Attax, the Premier League card game launched in 2007, then obtained the UEFA Champions League licence from the 2015-2016 season. In 2016, Topps Now introduced print-on-demand: cards printed within 24 hours to tell the story of the season day by day, with an announced print run. In September 2020, Formula 1 awarded Topps its exclusive worldwide licence for cards and stickers. In January 2022, Fanatics acquired Topps for 500 million dollars and, on 1 October 2025, Topps regained the NBA licence after fifteen years away: 2025-26 Topps Basketball, released on 23 October 2025, is the brand's first licensed NBA set since the 2009-10 season. In 2026, Topps adds the exclusive NFL licence, then that of the FIFA World Cup from 2031.
Topps Chrome, Refractors and Sapphire: understanding the formats
Topps Chrome is the central product of the collection: cards on shiny chromium stock, available in "Refractor" parallels whose rarity depends on colour and serial number. The same licence is released in several box formats, and it is this format that determines what you open. The Hobby Box is reserved for specialist shops and generally guarantees autographs or numbered parallels; the Mega Box and the Value Box (or Blaster) are retail formats, cheaper, with parallels exclusive to their format and lower odds on hits; the Jumbo Box contains thicker packs. The Sapphire editions take the Chrome design onto a cracked blue background with a print run far below classic Chrome, and are sold exclusively online by Topps. Premium ranges such as Topps Pristine or Topps Inception contain only a few cards per box, encased, but almost all autographed.
- Sealed box value: an unopened Hobby Box or Sapphire keeps its market value and resells as a sealed product, unlike an opened pack.
- Traceability: numbered parallels, serial codes on the cards and the factory wrap make it possible to verify the origin of what you buy.
- Diversity of licences: a single Chrome brand covers basketball, European football, F1, baseball, tennis, UFC, WWE, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and SpongeBob, which lets you collect by passion rather than by sport.
For a first purchase, a Topps Chrome UEFA or NBA Value Box or Mega Box is the most accessible entry point; for autograph hunting, the Hobby Box remains the reference.

FAQ — Topps cards at MTHOR
Are the Topps boxes sold at MTHOR authentic and factory sealed?
Yes. At MTHOR, every Topps box is checked by our experts before shipping: integrity of the factory wrap and welds, consistency of the product code and licence markings, absence of any sign of resealing, and, for graded cards, matching of the certification number with the grader's database. Products go under the UV lamp and microscope when necessary, then ship with an MTHOR seal that certifies the check.
What is the difference between a Topps Hobby Box, Mega Box and Value Box?
A Topps Hobby Box is the specialist shop format, with the largest number of packs and autographs or numbered parallels guaranteed depending on the product. A Mega Box and a Value Box (or Blaster) are retail formats, cheaper, which contain fewer packs and parallels exclusive to their format, with a lower probability of pulling an autograph. The choice depends on your budget and your goal: completing a set or hunting hits.
What exactly does a Topps Chrome box bought at MTHOR contain?
You receive the Topps box in its factory condition, with its wrap or blister intact, the number of packs indicated by the manufacturer on the box and, for Hobby Boxes, the guaranteed cards announced by Topps. We never open the boxes: the contents of the packs are random and we do not guarantee any specific card. The MTHOR seal is applied to the shipping packaging, never to the box itself.
What is the delivery time for a Topps box?
We ship worldwide, with home delivery against signature within 2 to 8 days. You benefit from real-time tracking by email and WhatsApp, whatever your destination.
Do I have to pay customs fees on Topps cards imported from the United States?
No, no customs fees are charged to you. MTHOR covers all customs duties and taxes, whatever your destination in the world. The price displayed on the site is the final price you pay: no nasty surprises on delivery.
Can I return a Topps box after receiving it?
Yes. You have 14 days after receipt to return your Topps box to us, provided it is in its original condition (never opened, factory wrap intact, seal not removed). The refund is processed within 24 hours of receiving the return.
