Revolutionary Engineered Mesh, Lunarlon Foam, aggressive low-top profile. The Protro 2024 reissue revived the line with cult colorways: "Mambacurial", "Christmas", "Galaxy", "Prelude". The story: Eric Avar, Kobe Bryant, 2013

Released January 2013 by Eric Avar (designer of Kobe 1 to 11). First Kobe with Engineered Mesh for ultra-light feel and breathability. Lunarlon Foam for performance cushioning. Iconic colorways: "Mambacurial", "Christmas / Year of the Snake", "Galaxy", "Easter", "Prelude" (5 gold stars for 5 NBA titles). After Kobe's death in January 2020, signature line paused. Kobe 8 Protro released February 2024 with Vanessa Bryant and Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation support.
